“It’s definitely bigger and better than last year. Last year, they wrote the three episodes hoping that people would watch it, and creating characters that people could connect to. Thankfully, because last year was such a success and the writers now know the style of the show and the character’s voices, everything has grown exponentially from that.

“Every single character is better, funnier, richer, with more layers and more depth, and the show has so many twists and turns and character plots that, even though I’m in it, I’m fascinated to watch it.

“We’ve just started work on episode six and the finale to episode six… I don’t think I’ve ever read a script faster! It ties up so many things in a way you might not logically go to, but you suddenly realize that it’s exactly what [writer] Heidi [Thomas] was plotting in episode one. There’s real ‘Oh wow’ moments in episode six, and all the way through the show.

“The spectacle is huge - we have massive events in Alexandra Palace, where there’s a big ball and a sporting event with hundreds of extras. The scope on this is infinitely bigger than last year - it’s going to be a fantastic show.”

I enjoyed Upstairs Downstairs S1. It’s a very different show than Downton Abbey, so expectations need to be in check. But I’m super excited for UD S2.

well, physically they’re both right for the parts.

I’m revolted that “attractive but skinny” is a casting descriptor. You know, in case they would dare to cast a size 4.

Black Canary is my favorite comic book character. I do not think Katie Cassidy is particularly well suited to play her. However, I really like Katie Cassidy, who is always the best thing about every show in which she appears. So I am cautiously optimistic.

What is going to happen to her if we don’t go get her?” tied with Julia’s “At night, we will call to you on the wind” monologue for the episode’s clunkiest moment.

Dianna Agron and Erika Christensen high-five. They are no longer tied for the worst adoption plotlines on television.

The Script for the Friday Night Lights Movie Is Almost Done, Will Be About Texas Tech-Era Mike Leach:

Jason Katims, who was our super talented show-runner, is about done with the script. You never know. So much of these things become scheduling. Kyle [Chandler] is busy, Adrianne [Palicki] is busy, Taylor is busy, Connie Britton is busy, but if we can get everyone in the same room at the same time, we all want to do it. We’re not done with Friday Night Lights. Also: “[Katims] has come up with a really great storyline that parallels what happened to [Texas Tech coach] Mike Leach, one of my heroes, a coach at Texas Tech who was unjustly fired and unjustly accused of mistreating a player with a concussion, which was proven to not have been the case. He’s now at Washington State getting ready for what I think will be a great redemption story. It would be critical that we get Kyle and Connie [onboard for the film] — we anchored the show around them — and then bring in Riggins, Tyra, Lyla and all other characters as we could get them. But the idea is to really revolve it around the coach.

The results of the Nielsen Survey that DC did post reboot are in and the results are depressing. In an article on ICv2, DC’s Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development John Rood outlined the results.

Remember the idea of bringing in new readers? The survey found…

I am extremely skeptical of these results. They do not match my experience or those of my writer friends, particularly regarding female readership. Also, I’ve been talking with dozens of stores and I don’t think they would agree with these numbers either.

Something seems very, VERY off.

And yet, DC Comics lost me with this reboot.
